Vasque Inhaler II Low

Sometimes a walk leads to a Class 5 climb.

This is one hard-charging low hiker. A supportive upper, burly toe bumper and extra reinforcements around the heel and forefoot had our feet encased in comfortable armor. The Vibram Megagrip compound on the outsole helped the aggressive tread pattern charge uphill and down. And the cushioning is responsive enough that if you feel like turning your hike into part-run, your feet can deal. Testers liked the breathability of such a protective, durable shoe. Swami gripe: Nada. Swami like: One said he’d pull it on when answering high-mountain rescue calls: “I’d feel comfortable walking backwards and carrying a litter down a trail.” 13.5 oz. (men’s), 11.5 oz. (women’s)
