There’s a tradeshow for every season. In September, the bike industry congregates in Las Vegas, Nevada for Interbike. We sent two contributors to report back on the new gear and the best bikes to include in our Fat Tire 2013 test. (Check out the 2012 results here.) The Outdoor Demo got underway yesterday, and our contributors filed video reports on the new Pearl Izumi X Project 1.0 cycling shoe, the Smith Optics Pivlock V2 Max sunglasses, and the Moots MX Divide 29er. Take a look below.
Pearl Izumi’s Tony Torrance talks about the X Project 1.0 cycling shoe, which transfers power to pedals efficiently while providing a comfortable walking platform that flexes in the heel and forefoot. A rubber sole means traction in wet conditions.
Gabe Schroder with Smith Optics talks about the highlights of the Pivlock V2 Max sunglasses. The shades feature more aggressive lens shape, an adjustable nose piece, and an assortment of arm colors for premium customization in a lightweight setup.
Mountain contributor Nick Truitt takes a test ride on the Moots MX Divide 29er, a full suspension bike with a platform that stays stable when pedaling, even when standing, but moves smoothly through the travel when bumps appear. —Sydney Fox
