As the newest member of the Mountain Collective, Revelstoke is justifiably rubbing shoulders with other top North American resorts. “I could live anywhere; I choose to live here,” says photographer Ryan Creary. “Revelstoke has a hard to find combo of consistent, quality snow, varied terrain, and huge vertical. And the town’s authentic—it still has redneck charm.”
Can’t-Miss Run: Creary’s favorite is heavily featured Three Bears, below treeline between Mania and Drop In. “It’s not long, but it has all kinds of rolls and slashes. And because it’s a bit out of the way, it doesn’t get tracked out as fast.”
Resort Bite: Hit La Baguette at the bottom of the gondola for BBQ or a tofu wrap. But know that most of the locals save their appetite for town. Local snowboarder Andrew Clarke recommends the Craft Beirhaus’s warm goat cheese salad and mac and cheese washed down with a pint of their extensive BC craft beer menu.
Stay an Extra Day: The ski touring in the region is perhaps the best in North America. Off the resort, try Thumbs Up. Or go self-propelled off Roger’s Pass. —Ryan Stuart
