Last year, Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons combined under the Park City name. Winter 2016–17 marks their second season as the largest ski resort in the U.S. following $50 million in capital improvements. The resort now boasts 7,300 acres, over 330 trails, and 41 lifts. Needless to say, there is plenty of terrain here. New this year is the introduction of EpicMix Time—a Vail ski-tracking app that shows guests real-time lift line waits along with ski day stats.
Can’t-Miss Run: Jupiter Bowl and McConkeys on powder days. Ninety-Nine 90 Express also provides quick hit inbounds powder shots—and backcountry access for those with the safety gear and avalanche knowledge.
Resort Bite:A few blocks from the town lift you’ll find the newly opened Old Town Cellars, stop for a glass of wine and après. You can even purchase wine here on Sunday, a novelty in Utah.
Local Advice: While the crowds flock to McConkeys Express, a high-speed six-pack chair, Park City local Ed Lewis heads “to Jupiter Chair for a short traverse and hike toward Dead Tree for powder stashes away from the crowds.” —Erme Catino
