Kästle calls the MX 74 “Der Experte.” That’s fitting if the intended expert likes a traditional feel (no rocker) and prefers to set up one medium radius arc after another at high speed. The stability of the MX matched some of the best in class, but it does like to make one turn shape. Find that sweet spot, though, and the premium Kästle build shines as you link GS turns at mach schnell—sausage sold separately.
Swami gripe: Compared to the beer-league race-carvers on this page, the 74 is more of a pure frontside cruising ski; which is pretty damn fun, too.
Swami like: On edge or off, it simply doesn’t chatter or squirrel around.
