Patagonia Tsali 3.0

trail-test-2014-patagonia-tsali-30

The Tsali 3.0 is suited for a majority of runners and terrain. That’s due to Patagonia’s “everything you need, nothing you don’t” mentality. Here, a single-density EVA midsole, EVA forefoot plate, and mesh upper keep the weight down, while simple TPU overlays keep the foot in place. The laces handily dial in fit, and smartly designed lugs shed mud. Even with a 10mm drop, testers raved about a smooth, easy gait ready for speed workouts, marathons, and anything in between. Tester’s take: “Call me Forest Gump. So fun I couldn’t stop running.” Swami gripe: Require stability on trail? Skip the Tsalis. Swami like: The Tsali wins for best value. 10.4 oz; $110
