North American 50-Milers

For a true offroad race that incorporates as much single and doubletrack as possible, look to the 50-miler.


The Firecracker 50 takes place in Breckenridge, Colorado, over the Fourth of July weekend.

Like a century on a road bike, the 50-miler mountain bike race is long enough to crush you (in a good way), but you don’t need to quit your job to train. Here are some by you—give or take a few miles.

    You could add the Cahaba 25/50/100 (formerly Oak Ass) in Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama to the list
