Hike-to steeps, mellow glades, screaming high-speed groomers, and a vibrant park and pipe scene: The Park City resort that actually dumps out in the town of Park City offers a big diversity of terrain. Once neglected, the current management puts mountain operations above all else. This winter, the new Three Kings chair and hands- free access gates at all seven base-area lifts mean Park City skiers will get up the mountain faster than ever. "Park City has a little something for everyone," says transplant-turned-local Matt Baydala. "It's great for my family when they come to town. You can get East Coast skiing with Western quality snow, or a 10-minute hike up Jupiter Peak to a 900-foot shot of untracked powder."
