March 27 There are many ways to remember Shane McConkey. He was the freeskier who ripped big mountains in Alaska on water skis to prove that fat, rockered skis were the future. He was Saucer Boy, a larger than life character who made fun of himself and the sport to make others laugh. He was a father and a husband. The documentary film McConkey promises to share all this and more about the Squaw Valley local, who died in a ski-BASE accident in 2009. It's scheduled for release in 2013. Watch the powerful trailer here.
